Ramallah, MINA – Israeli occupation authorities have blocked the delivery of synthetic grass donated by the government of the People’s Republic of China, marking a new flashpoint in the restriction of Palestinian civil rights.
The grass was an official grant from China intended for the Palestinian Higher Council for Youth and Sports.
According to a report by WAFA on Sunday, the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) issued a stinging rebuke of the move, characterizing it as “systematic aggression” aimed at crippling the Palestinian national sports sector.
“The Association views this ban as a blatant violation of the Palestinian people’s right to develop sports infrastructure, specifically in providing safe spaces for children and youth to practice football,” the PFA stated.

The PFA clarified that all official and technical procedures regarding the shipment were completed in full accordance with international regulations. Despite following the required protocols, the delivery was obstructed by Israeli authorities.
The Association argues this incident is not an isolated case but rather part of a long-standing policy of repression against athletic activities in the Palestinian territories.
The PFA stated that Israel’s actions are contrary to the Olympic Charter, which promotes the practice of sport as a human right, and FIFA regulations that ensure equal, non-discriminatory access to football for all member associations.
In closing, the Palestinian Football Association expressed its deep appreciation to the Chinese government for its continuous support of the Palestinian people and for recognizing sports as a vital tool for youth development and nation-building.[]
