Kudus, MINA – Indonesian First Madrasah Tsanawiyah Madrasah (MTsN) 1 student, Rasyif Aulia Mahmud is proud of the nation’s name after winning gold secondary 2 in the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) event held on 30 August – 2 September 2019 at City University of Hong Kong.

HKIMO is an international level mathematics competition that aims to promote the mathematical olympiad all over the world.

There are five main topics that are contested in the event, namely logical thinking, arithmetic or algebra, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics.

Head of MTs N 1 Kudus, Taufiq Hidayat said that Rasyif had won mathematics competitions ten times at the district and provincial levels. Even on September 15-21, 2019, Rasyif will advance again at the national level.

“Thank Lord, I’m grateful for Rasyif’s achievements. Because this achievement was the first time competing in international championships. The acquisition was none other than the results of his struggle in participating in various competitions, “said Taufiq in Kudus on Monday, September 2.

He recounted based on the acquisition of mathematical scores, Rasyif was among the participants who were able to score above 120. According to the rules of the competition, the participants who successfully surpassed the score of 120 were awarded as gold secondary 2.

“There are three children who are able to score above 120. The three children came from Indonesia,” he concluded.

The final round of HKIMO was attended by 30 countries, from Indonesia as many as 150 participants spread from various regions in Indonesia. (T/Sj/P2)
