Five People Killed as Indian Army Camp in Kashmir Attacked

New Delhi, 30 Rajab 1438/27 April 2017 (MINA) — Five people, including three Indian soldiers and two militants, were killed as an Army camp in Kupwara’s Panzgam in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir came under attack, Indian authorities said Thursday.

Indo Asian News Service (IANS) quoted India’s Defence Ministry Spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia as saying “Fidayeen terrorists attacked the Panzgam army camp close to the Line of Control around 04:30 a.m. local-time,”

The attack resulted in the killing of three soldiers including an officer and two militants.

According to local reports, forces are still carrying out a search and clearing operation inside the camp amid reports that two more assailants are still holed up inside the camp.
