Bogor, MINA – Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulfattah A.K. Al-Sattari flagged off thousands of participants in the Solidarity Run for Palestine held by the Aqsa Working Group together with Darussalam Mosque in Kota Wisata, Bogor on Sunday.

The event is part of the series of Palestinian Solidarity Month 2026. With an initial target of 1,000 participants, public enthusiasm exceeded the committee’s expectations. As of the latest update, around 1,500 participants had registered.

In his remarks, Al-Sattari thanked the participants. He expressed confidence that they would one day be able to pray at the Aqsa Mosque.

“You participants, you will pray at the Aqsa Mosque. One day we will gather at the Aqsa Mosque,” he said.

He highlighted the patience and resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupier. According to him, the reason they endure is that Allah has promised that Al-Aqsa will be liberated.

He also described the current conditions in Palestine. Gaza refugees, he said, have had their tents submerged in floods and are facing various diseases. Israeli settlers are attacking Palestinians in the West Bank and have burned 10,000 Palestinian homes.

“They think the Palestinian people will give up. Allah is with us,” he said.

Al-Sattari stressed that Palestine is a country still under occupation, but also the most beloved country in the world. “Israel will be driven out,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the government, people, and organizations in Indonesia. “If your nation had not supported us, perhaps we would not have been able to survive until now,” he said.

“We will win against Israel,” Al-Sattari concluded.

The Solidarity Run for Palestine is part of the Palestinian Solidarity Month 2026 activities organized by the Aqsa Working Group. It serves as a space for public participation to show concern for the Palestinian struggle through healthy, positive sporting activity imbued with humanitarian spirit. The event also serves as a moment to strengthen relations between institutions, communities, and society in building a sustainable solidarity movement.

The ambassador’s remarks connect the event to the conditions on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank. His description of flooded tents aligns with reports from Gaza, where heavy rains over the weekend inundated thousands of tents sheltering displaced families, damaging belongings and forcing families out into the open. The Government Media Office in Gaza has said the Strip urgently needs 260,000 new tents to replace dilapidated ones, while more than 2,000 homes are at risk of collapsing on residents.

His reference to settler attacks in the West Bank is also consistent with documented developments. On Friday, Israeli forces and colonists carried out 20 attacks on olive harvesters across six West Bank governorates in a single day, while Israeli authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil to Muslim worshipers and allowed settler religious ceremonies inside.

The run follows the opening of Palestinian Solidarity Month at Monas on November 1, which drew more than 5,000 participants and featured Indonesian and Palestinian flags flown over the monument by paramotor pilots and a colossal Palestinian flag measuring 50 meters long and 9 meters wide. The month-long series continues with the Summit for Palestine on November 14 and 15 at Mount Gede, a Focus Group Discussion for Journalists for Palestine on November 19, the Baitul Maqdis Festival on November 22, an Anti-Zionist Symposium at the House of Representatives on November 25, and the Al-Aqsa Love Long March on November 28 and 29, concluding at Istiqlal Mosque on November 29, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.[]
