FAMEX Mexico 2019, Indonesia Promotes Defense Facility

Santa Lucia, MINA – Indonesia participated in 2019 Feria Aeroespacial Mexico (Famex) exhibition held by Mexican Ministry of Defense (SEDENA) on April 24-27 in Santa Lucia, Estados de Mexico state.

According to a written statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Mexico on Sunday, 2019 Famex exhibition was attended by 40 countries with more than 600 company participants and more than 40 educational institutions.

From 40 countries, Indonesian defense industry companies also participated in 2019 Famex exhibition, namely: PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT Pindad and PT Napindo.

2019 Famex exhibition was opened by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO). In his remarks, AMLO conveyed its message, inviting investors to invest in Mexico and emphasizing that Mexico has strong legal supremacy.

For Mexico, 2019 Famex is a means of promoting the capabilities of Mexican aerospace industry and promotion of technological exchanges between countries.

Meawhile, for Indonesia, the participation of Indonesian defense industry at 2019 Famex is an appropriate and potential means of promotion to introduce Indonesia’s strategic industries, especially in the fields of aerospace and defense.

Director General of Defense Potential, Indonesian Ministry of Defense, Prof. Bondan Tiara Sofyan was also present at 2019 Famex to meet invitation of Mexican Ministry of Defense (SEDENA).

On April 25, it was noted that PT Pindad had agreed to cooperate with Grupo Empresarial Aerospacio 2000 S.A DE C.V in the field of marketing and sales of weapons and ammunition along with accessories, parts and ammunition in the territory of Mexico and other countries.

Likewise, IPTN North America Inc. (INA) which is a subsidiary of PT Dirgantara Indonesia has also agreed to cooperate with the same company. (L/Sj/P2)
