Jakarta, 30 Muharram 1437/12 November 2015 (MINA) – The Lombok International Airport in Central Lombok District has
resumed its operation after airport authorities and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VOAAC) declared the airport was safe for flight activities.
The airport had been closed for eight days beginning on Wednesday (4/11) as Mount Barujari spewed clouds of ash into the sky, grounding hundreds of flights on the resort island.
“Himawari weather satellite images show the volcanic ash of Mount Barujari is no longer blanketing the airport,” said, Head of Public Affairs of PT Angkasa Pura local office I Gde Sandy Asmadi.
The Ministry of Transportation, Airnav, Angkasa Pura, The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VOAAC) announced that the airport was safe since the ash cloud covering the airport had drifted away, clearing the skies for take off and landing activities.

Meanhile Selaparang Airport in Mataram until now has not been operated since it is considered not safe for flight.
