Jeddah, MINA – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi attended the Foreign Minister’s Organization Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Jeddah on Wednesday.
The OIC State Ministerial Summit prepared two documents as a result of the OIC Summit, namely the final draft of Communique and resolution on Palestine and Al-Quds Ash-Sharif. The 14th OIC Summit itself will be held in Mecca on Friday.
In the summit, Indonesian Foreign Minister said specifically on state, OIC must be solid in helping Palestine. “The OIC must unite and OIC’s steps must be solid and coordinated in supporting Palestine,” said Retno.
Since the beginning of OIC summit at the level of senior officials, Indonesia has actively contributed to negotiations on preparation of final document of the summit.

Particularly, Indonesian Foreign Minister stressed that the peace plan for Israeli-Palestinian dispute must pay attention to three criteria, namely inclusiveness (involving the conflicting parties), discussing (not supporting Palestinian political rights), and parameters that have been recognized internationally.
In addition, Indonesian Foreign Minister also expressed Indonesia’s readiness to host the OIC Summit, when moving to Asian region.
The summit was held in the month of Ramadhan, so it started at 23.00 (after tarawih prayer) and closed at dawn. (T/Sj/P2)
