219 PALESTINIAN PASSENGERS LEAVE GAZA TO EGYPT

         Rafah, 27 Muharram 1435/1 December 2013 (MINA) – Two buses and a number of ambulances left, on Sunday morning, the Gaza Strip to the Egyptian side through the Rafah crossing.

        The Ministry of Interior in Gaza stated that 219 Palestinian passengers left the Gaza Strip, most of whom are holding permanent residencies, students, patients or suffering from serious health conditions.

         Further, the ministry confirmed that other 210 passengers got into Gaza, indicating that the Egyptian authorities denied 17 travel without giving explanations, Alresalah quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

         It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior announced that registration for travel was stopped due to the obstacles, imposed by the Egyptian side on the movement of the Palestinians.

Palestinians need visas to enter Turkey

Meanwhile, Gaza Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied rumors, which have been spread via social networking sites that Palestinians can have access to the Turkish lands without visas.

“There is nothing true about  the rumors, which have spread wide on the social media networking that the Palestinians are exempt from the procedures  needed to get a visa to Turkey,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.

The Ministry stressed on deep relationship between the two peoples, the Palestinians and the Turks, and the importance of mutual cooperation. It praised the Turkish role in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Official from the ministry stressed that Turkey’s ongoing efforts to support the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are highly appreciated, and he applauded the Turkish attempts to lift the unjust blockade of Gaza, calling on all international world to work and contribute to the lifting of the siege.

He placed an emphasis on the importance of continuing attempts to send  delegations into Gaza, and the promotion of public and international solidarity for the lifting of the Israeli blockade . (T/P02/E1)
