ZIONIST TERRORISTS VANDALIZE CHRISTIAN VILLAGE IN UPPER GALILEE

Christian village vandalised by Israeli group/Photo:www.apnironaq.com Al-Quds (Jerusalem), 4 Jumadil Akhir 1435/4 April 2014 (MINA) – The only predominantly Maronite-Christian village of Jish in Upper Galilee was vandalized on Wednesday night and the tyres of 40 vehicles were slashed.

Witnesses said the graffiti on the walls was signed with “Price Tag” and read: “Only non-Jews should be evacuated from our land,” Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Israeli occupation police started searching for the perpetrators and said it would launch an inquiry into the incident. Head of Jish Municipal Council Elias Elias denounced the incident.

Primary information showed that there are three or four Israeli extremist settlers moving from village to village to carry out such actions. Arab residents said that the Israeli occupation police don’t do enough to deter them.

Elias said he would call for the police to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions and to compensate the residents. “We will not fear them,” he said, “we will remain here forever.”

The spokesperson for the Islamic movement in Israel, Lawyer Zahi Nojidat, denounced the “wild attack of the stray settlers on the properties of Jish residents.”

He added: “It is clear that they are trying to terrorise our people.” He blamed the government for these actions which, he said, they started to spread all over the country.

The Zionist extremists scrawl Graffiti disparaging Jesus and Mary

Vandals scrawled hate graffiti on a Catholic monastery in central Israel and slashed the tires of nearby cars weeks before Pope Francis visits the Holy land, Israeli police said Tuesday, according to Associated Press report from Jerusalem.

Slogans against Mideast peace talks with the Palestinians as well as graffiti disparaging Jesus and Mary were found on the outer walls of the Deir Rafat monastery close to Jerusalem.

Israeli police are investigating and searching for suspects, spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

A tiny fringe group of radical Israeli settlers, mostly teenagers and young men, have been carrying out acts of vandalism in recent years to protest what they perceive as the Israeli government’s pro-Palestinian policies and in retaliation for Palestinian attacks.

The vandals have targeted mosques, churches, dovish Israeli groups and even Israeli military bases in these so-called “price tag” assaults. The attacks have been widely and vocally condemned by Israeli le aders across the political spectrum. The vandals are widely despised by the vast majority of Israelis. So far police have had little success in stopping them.

Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal, the top Catholic clergyman in the region, visited the Monastery and met with the nuns and viewed the damage. “This is bad for the state of Israel, it is bad for us, it is bad for everybody. In this Holy Land we do not need these actions. Especially these actions against a monastery where we have sisters just praying for peace. They are not involved in any politics so this really is a bad sign and we regret it very much,” Twal said.

Francis, an Argentine Jesuit, will be the fourth pope to visit the Holy Land. He is set to visit Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Jordan in May.

His visit reflects warming relations between the Vatican and Israel in recent decades.

The tires of 40 cars and trucks slashed

Phooto: www.middleeastmonitor.comThe tires of 40 cars and trucks were slashed and a hateful message was sprayed on a wall in a Christian village near Safed.

The vandalism was discovered Thursday morning. It is the second attack apparently aimed at Christians in one week.

The message sprayed on a wall of the Jish village read “Only goyim (non-Jews) should be evacuated from our land.” Residents of the village, home to about 3,000 people, are predominantly Maronite-Christian, though about one-third are Muslim, according to Ynet.

Safed Police Chief Superintendent Yoram Azulay told Ynet “We are dealing with outlaws, and will do everything to bring them to justice. This is an exceptional and serious event.”

Israeli media are referring to the attack as a price tag incident. “Price tag” refers to the strategy adopted by extremist settlers and their supporters generally to exact retribution for settlement freezes and demolitions or Palestinian attacks on Jews.

On Tuesday morning, a Catholic monastery near Beit Shemesh in central Israel was vandalized with anti-American and anti-Christian epithets. (T/E01/IR)
