Two Islamic Colleges in Bogor Establish Cooperation with Russia

Kazan, MINA – Two Islamic universities in Bogor, West Java have collaborated with Russian Islamic University (RIU).

The two colleges are the Tazkia Islamic Economics College (STEI) and Ibn Khaldun University (UIKA).

The cooperation was stated in an agreement signed at RIU, Kazan, Wednesday by university’s Chancellors, Rafik Mukhametahin from RIU and Dr. Murniati Mukhlisin, M.Acc from STEI Tazkia. Meanwhile, from UIKA signed by Dr. H. E. Bahruddin, M.Ag.

The parties agreed to promote, develop and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in education and science. The forms of cooperation include exchanges of staff, teachers and students, joint research and publications, organizing seminars, conferences and workshops together, and other collaborations that are of common concern.

RIU Chancellor expressed his joy to be able to establish and re-develop cooperation with Islamic universities in Indonesia after the last few years have stopped. According to the RIU Chancellor, cooperation with Indonesia is very important, as has been initiated since 2009.

Indonesian Ambassador to Russian Federation concurrently to Republic of Belarus, M. Wahid Supriyadi who attended witnessing the signing of agreement encouraged the development of cooperation between the two universities, including Islamic universities.

Ambassador Wahid stressed the importance of follow-up and realization of the agreements between the two parties. (T/Sj/R04)
