Taliban Revealed Their Real Faces in Moscow Summit, Says Afghan Senate

Kabul, MINA — The Afghan Senate, Meshrano Jirga, Senators slammed the Taliban group for participating in Moscow summit under the shadow of Vladimir Putin and missing the summits in Mecca and Jakarta, despite carrying high Islamic slogans. Khaama Press reported.

The senators also criticized the government’s absence in the summit and said the Taliban group representatives managed to share their plans and demands in a loud voice with the Afghan High Peace Council (HPC) representatives failing to play a constructive role in the summit.

However, the Senate Chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar Meshrano Jirga supports any summit attended by the Afghan representatives and which do not compromise the territorial integrity of the country.

Muslimyar expressed hopes that the summit would yield good results as the representatives of the Taliban had participated in the summit.

He said the Afghans should accept each other and the Taliban must refrain from bloodshed and waging war, emphasizing that only in that condition such summits would yield positive results.

According to Muslimyar, efforts for peace must be maintained despite the boycott of Mecca conference and shared pre-conditions for peace talks in Moscow summit. (T//RS5/RS1)
