Saudi Arabia Versus South Korea in AFC U-19 Final

Cibinong, Bogor Regency MINA – After conquering the U-19 Japanese National Team with a score of 2-0, the Saudi Arabian Under-19 national team will face the South Korean U-19 national team in the U-19 Asian Cup Final (AFC) at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, on Saturday (3/11).

The Saudi Arabian national team defeated the defending champion Japan with two goals scored by Khalid Al-Ghannam in the 29th minute due to a mistake by Korean goalkeeper Tomoya Wakahara.

The goal was started by Al-Ammar’s kick from the right side which failed to be well anticipated by Wakahara who just missed and crossed the goal line.

While the second goal, occurring at the end of the first half or the 45th minute + 1 was Khalid Al-Ghannam who used a gag ball which was pushed over Korean goalkeeper.

Based on AFC records, this is a victory that Saudi Arabia has been waiting for for 45 years over Japan in this tournament.

Meanwhile, South Korea was able to advance to the Final after beating Qatar with a score of 3-1 which took place at the Pakansari Stadium on Thursday (1/11).

South Korea took the lead in the 23rd minute through Jeon Se-jin. Starting the attack from the right side, Se-jin managed to shoot the ball into the Qatar goal after getting feedback from Um Won-Sang.

Se-Jin scored the second goal again in a free kick in the 33rd minute. The ball hit Qatar’s defender first before sliding into the top right corner of the goalkeeper Shehab Mamdouh.

Qatar increasingly immersed after Um Won-Sang added South Korea’s advantage in the 45th minute + 2 through his right-footed shot which nested in the goal.

Although had risen in the second half by scoring one goal by Abdulla Almurisi, Qatar still was unable to catch up with it.

For South Korea it is an opportunity to add to their trophy in the U-19 Asian Cup to 13, while for Saudi Arabia this is an opportunity to add the trophy to three titles.
