Saudi Arabia Strong Among the Strongest
Buenos Aires, MINA — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, met in his residential place in Buenos Aires with a number of the world leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping, South Africa President Cyril Ramphosa, British Prime Minister Theresa May and Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Sudi Gazette reported.
At the fringe of the G-20 meeting, the Crown Prince also held cordial talks with US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and the Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.
The world eyes were focused on the Kosta Salghro Hall here where the G20 Summit was being held at the presence of 35 world leaders consisting of 33 men and two women.
The countries of the G-20 together represent 85 percent of the world economy, three quarters of the world trade and about 80 percent of the international investments.
The Crown Prince, at the head of the Saudi delegation, arrived at his residence on Friday at a time presidential confirmations from a number of countries said they would hold talks with him.
US President Donald Trump and the Russian President Valdimir Putin said they would meet with Prince Muhammad Bin Salman during the summit.
The keenness of the world leaders to meet with the Crown Prince reflected the Kingdom’s weight on the world map and his influential world position.
Economic observers believe that the participation of the Kingdom in the summit with a high-level delegation headed by the Crown Prince was a remarkable indication of its determination to further enhance its effective role in the G-20.
The Kingdom, which carries on its shoulders the international causes of the Arab world, is the sole Arab country in the summit.
A Russian source told the Novosti news agency that the oil agreement (OPEC +) and the Syrian file would be at the top of the agenda in the meeting between the Crown Prince and President Putin.
The G-20 leaders held a closed-door meeting. Argentina President Mauricio Macri, opened the general session with a call for dialogue and consensus. The summit is scheduled to discuss a number of economic issues including the world economic pioneers, the world monetary stability and the sustainable development.
“The incumbent world economic challenges make it imperative on us to work collectively to resolve them. We want to surpass the differences through constructive dialogue,” Argentine president said in his opening speech.
He said the crux of the summit is to respect the differences and enhance dialogue adding that the leaders would also discuss the world trade and the financial stability. “Through dialogue, we would be able to build a better future and get rid of the poverty,” he said.

Following the opening session, the leaders held bilateral meetings then attended a cultural event at the Colon historical theatre.
