Al-Quds, MINA – Following the end of Yom Kippur, Israeli violations at the Aqsa Mosque continued Tuesday morning as dozens of extremist settlers desecrated the Islamic holy site under heavy police escort, the Palestinian Information Center reports.
Today’s violations follow a major escalation at the Aqsa Mosque during Yom Kippur on Sunday and Monday, when large groups of Jewish settlers, including government officials, toured its courtyards and performed public Talmudic rituals.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, a record 1,678 settlers entered the Aqsa Mosque compound and toured its courtyards on Sunday and Monday, marking the highest number ever documented for the holiday.
Settlers performed public, group prayers and rituals on Sunday, mostly in the eastern part of the Aqsa Mosque compound, which involved dancing, singing, clapping, and prostration.

Settler activities over the two days were not confined to defiling the Mosque’s courtyards. Video footage captured groups of settlers praying near Bab al-Rahma outside the Mosque’s eastern wall following calls to gather at the location.
The Governorate warned that such settler violations undermine the historic status quo at the Aqsa Mosque and threaten Muslims’ freedom of worship at the holy site.[]
