Washington, MINA – US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib renewed her criticism of American support for Israel on Thursday as the war in the Gaza Strip reached its 1,000th day, calling for a full arms embargo and accountability for what she described as ongoing atrocities.
In a post on X, Tlaib said the conflict has continued for 1,000 days with Palestinians facing ongoing attacks.
“Today marks 1,000 days since the start of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. To this day, Palestinians continue to be massacred by this apartheid regime with the full backing of our government. We need a full arms embargo now and to bring perpetrators to justice. Free Palestine,” she wrote.
Tlaib, the first Palestinian American woman elected to the US Congress, has been one of the strongest critics of US military assistance to Israel and has repeatedly urged Washington to halt arms transfers to the country.

Israel launched its military campaign in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. According to Palestinian figures, more than 73,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed since the conflict began.
Although a ceasefire agreement took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli military operations and the blockade on Gaza have continued, alongside widespread destruction across the enclave.[]
