Qassam, Al-Quds Brigade Denies Rocket Attacks to Tel Aviv
Gaza, MINA – Izzuddin al-Qassam Brigade, the armed wing of the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement and the Al-Quds Brigade, armed wing of Islamic Jihad on Thursday, March 14, denied local rockets being fired from Gaza Strip into Tel Aviv region.
“We confirm that we are not responsible for the rockets launched tonight towards the enemy,” Qassam said in a press statement. Press Quds reported.
The statement said rocket fire coincided with a meeting between the Hamas leadership and the Egyptian security delegation, adding, “this raises questions about the reality and timing of launching these rockets.”
Islamic Jihad denied that night’s responsibility for rocket attacks.
Dawood Shehab, a leader of the resistance movement, said in a press statement that his movement and military wing, the Al-Quds Brigade, did not fire any rockets.
On Thursday night, in Tel Aviv and its surroundings, warning sirens rang for the first time since Israeli aggression in Gaza in the summer of 2014.
The Israeli occupation army announced that two rockets from Gaza slid into the Gush Dan area and said that the Iron Dome system in the Tel Aviv area intercepted one of the rockets, while the other bullets fell in an open area.
The Israeli army announced the deployment of the Iron Dome around Tel Aviv, due to tensions in the north and south of the country, and given concerns over security services for possible rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. (T/Sj/P2)
