Gaza, MINA – The Hamas Movement has expressed its appreciation to the participants in the second mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla for their bold efforts to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued Monday evening, Hamas hailed the activists taking part in the flotilla, describing their stance as an “expression of commitment to the values of justice and humanity, and resolute opposition to the unjust blockade imposed on more than two million Palestinians.”
“The participation of nearly 1,000 volunteer activists from dozens of countries and their defiance of Israeli measures underscore the failure of deterrence policies to halt attempts to break the blockade. It highlights the justice of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s right to a dignified life,” Hamas said.
Hamas called for intensifying international efforts to break the blockade, particularly in light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

It also urged the international community, the United Nations, and its institutions to provide protection for the flotilla, prevent its interception by Israeli forces, and take practical steps to end the blockade imposed on the Strip.
Created in 2025 by NGO representatives, activists, and volunteers from various countries, the Sumud Flotilla launched its second mission from Barcelona’s port in Spain to the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
The Barcelona-based fleet, which last sailed in September with 42 boats and 462 people, departed on April 12 with almost double the scale: 70 boats and nearly 1,000 volunteers from 70 countries.
Spokesperson for the flotilla, Pablo Castilla, has said that the main goal is “to condemn international complicity in what is happening in Gaza, demand accountability, and open a humanitarian corridor by sea and land.”[]
