Jordan Valley, MINA – Palestinian cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh was held a day after Israel said would annex territory of Palestinian state.

Mohammad Shtayyeh chaired a weekly meeting and promised his government would support the development of Palestinian agriculture programs in the region, Palestinepost24 media reported as quoted by MINA.

The meeting came a day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also chaired a government meeting in the area. He promised to annex a large portion of Palestinian territory if he was re-elected after a national vote on Tuesday, September 17.

Palestinian cabinet meetings usually take place in Ramallah. Prime Minister Shtayyeh also thanked countries that condemned Netanyahu for annexing the Jordan Valley, which covers a quarter of the West Bank.

A number of European, Arab and other countries condemned Netanyahu’s statement, saying it was a “violation of international law.”

Shtayyeh added that Palestinians will sue Israel in international courts for “exploiting their land,” claiming that Israel has planted more than one million palm trees in the West Bank since 1967.

Palestinians hope that the West Bank, including the Jordan Valley, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, are sovereign territories of country without further annexation of Israeli Zionists. (T/Sj/P2)
