Megawati Hangestri Cries After Defeating the Unbeatable

Solo, MINA – The first match of the 2026 Proliga Solo Series Final Four at the Sritex Arena Sports Hall in Solo on Thursday afternoon pitted the undefeated Gresik Phonska Plus Pupuk Indonesia against Jakarta Pertamina Enduro.

Of the four teams in the women’s division, Phonska Plus was the only team undefeated in their first two matches in the Surabaya Series.

The strength of Mediol Stiovany Yoku (5) and her teammates posed a tough challenge for Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi (8) and Ibu Commissioner, nicknamed Irina Voronkova (18).

First set: Phonska Plus’ first loss

Pertamina Enduro earned the first point through Megawati Hangestri’s spike.

Megawati and her teammates then won four points, ending the match with a service error, 1-4.

Midway through the set, Pertamina Enduro led 13-15, then 16-20.

Shindy Sasgia’s (25th) quick move gave Pertamina Enduro a 19-24 set point, which was then sealed by a spike from Wilma Salas (2nd), 19-25.

The score was 0-1 for Pertamina Enduro. This was Phonska Plus’ first set loss after clean 3-0 wins over Jakarta Popsivo Polwan and Jakarta Electric PLN Mobile.

The second set was tight at 8-8. A series of points gave Pertamina Enduro a 19-14 lead.

Voronkova and Salas’s strong attacks allowed Pertamina to maintain their lead until the end of the set.

Pertamina secured the second set with a 19-25 victory, after Poronkova’s pitch fell on the floor.

The score was 0-2 for Megawati Hangestri and her teammates.

Phonska Plus took the lead 10-6. However, a small error, exceeding the service time, gave Pertamina Enduro the lead, 14-13.

However, the solidity of Shella Bernadetha and her teammates allowed Phonska Plus to pull away again, 21-18.

Phonska then secured the third set with a 25-21 victory after Annie Mitchem (22) delivered a boom spike.

The set was once again tight at the start, tied at 7-7. However, Pertamina’s consecutive points gave Megawati and her teammates a 10-13 lead.

After initially trailing significantly, Phonska’s three consecutive points brought them within 19-20.

Next, it was 21-21, then 21-22, 21-23, 22-23, 23-23, and match point 23-24 for Pertamina Enduro after Wilma Salas succeeded with a spike.

Next, Oleksandra Bytsenko’s (23) spike error gave Pertamina Enduro the fourth set victory, and the match, 23-25.

Phonska Plus versus Pertamina Enduro ended 1-3 (19-25, 19-25, 25-21 and 23-25).

This victory secured Megawati Hangestri and her teammates the Final Four of the first round of the 2026 Proliga.

Megawati Hangestri couldn’t hold back her tears of joy as she celebrated her team’s victory.

This also marked the first loss for Gresik Phonska Plus Pupuk Indonesia. []
