MAPIM Discusses Kashmir’s Issue in Its Conference

Kuala Lumpur, MINA – Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organization (MAPIM) at first time held in its conference to discuss the issue of Kashmir which was turbulent and lonely from media coverage, at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“Kashmir is a country that is between India and Pakistan. This area has more than 47 years of turbulence, become a disputed area between India, Pakistan, and China. “The dispute that wants Kashmir to get autonomy rights from India, but that hope has not been achieved until now,” said former Malaysian Foreign Minister Tan Sri Syed Abdul Hamid Albar at the opening of the conference,  as reported by MINA correspondent here on Friday.

Abdul Hamid Albar is concerned and saddened by the lack of media coverage about Khasmir’s condition which is still experiencing conflict until now.

There are many still action crimes in Khasmir such as murder, torture, and tyranny against Muslims, which amount to 96.4 percent of the 12 million total population.

The Chairman of MAPIM “Cekgu”, his nickname, opened the Conference by encouraging the audience to jointly pay attention and be concerned about the oppression experienced by Muslims in Khasmir.

Although “Cekgu” had never been to Kashmir but he knew that Kashmir is a beautiful country and an attractive tourist destination.

Representative countries that were present included Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Palestine, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
