Jakarta, MINA — The leader of Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) said that the death of Palestinian resistance figure Abu Ubaida should not be viewed as a victory for Israel, but instead as a source of renewed determination among Palestinians to resist Israeli occupation and defend Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Sakuri, chairman of the Central Ukhuwah Council, said Abu Ubaida’s death would not weaken the resistance movement.

“The martyrdom of a fighter for truth is a moral victory and a catalyst for new generations to continue the struggle,” he said in a statement.

Sakuri added that the killing would strengthen international sympathy for the Palestinian cause, while Israel’s continued violations of cease-fire agreements and international law have triggered growing global condemnation.

He said Abu Ubaida’s death reflects Islamic values described in the Quran, Surah Al-Ahzab verse 23, which highlights those who fulfill their covenant with God, some who fall as martyrs and others who remain steadfast.

Jama’ah Muslimin expressed condolences over the loss but said grief would not deter efforts to liberate Al-Aqsa Mosque and end the occupation of Palestine.

Israel’s military campaign in Gaza continues to cause heavy civilian and resistance fighters casualties. International observers say repeated violations of ceasefire agreement have fueled widespread criticism and expanded global solidarity with Palestinians.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced Monday that its spokesperson, Abu Ubaida, identified as Huthaifa Samir al-Kahlout, was killed in an airstrike in late August when Israel targeted a residential building in Gaza City.[]
