Israeli Forces Shoot Man under Suspicion of Knife Possession Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem, 10 Syawal 14337/15 July 2016 (MINA) – Israeli armed forces Thursday injured an unidentified Palestinian man near Shufat refugee camp checkpoint, northeast of Jerusalem and arrested another during a raid into the camp.

Israeli police claimed the man was shot under suspicion of carrying a knife.

His injuries were described as light to moderate.

The Red Crescent told WAFA Israeli forces didn’t allow medical crews to reach the man to provide medical aid and blocked the road for traffic both ways.

Israeli forces have adopted a “shoot-to-kill” policy during clashes with Palestinians, even in clear cases where they could be captured.

More than 200 Palestinians have been killed since last October, with Israel claiming that most of those killed were involved in attacks against settlers and regime forces.
