ZIONISTS FORCE JERUSALEMITE CITIZEN TO DEMOLISH HIS HOUSE

         Al-Quds (Jerusalem), 27 Muharram 1435/1 Desember 2013 (MINA) –  An Israeli court ordered a Jerusalemite citizen to immediately demolish his house, south of the city of Jerusalem, media sources reported.

        The homeowner Adel Omayra told Quds Press that he will be forced to demolish his house before the first of December, according to the court’s ruling, Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

        He pointed out that his two-story home, which is located in the town of Sur Baher south of Jerusalem, was built a year ago to enable his eldest son to live in after getting married, and stressed that the piece of land on which the house was built is owned by his family.

        The citizen pointed out that the Israeli occupation authority claimed that the house is built on a plot of land located in area C, where construction is forbidden according to the Oslo agreement.

        He added that the IOA threatened to send its bulldozers to demolish the house and force him pay more than 200 thousand shekels as cost of demolition, stressing that his son doesn’t have an alternative place to live in.

          Related news, a Palestinian family in East Jerusalem had to demolish three apartments they had been building on Saturday after an Israeli court threatened the structures with demolition by the municipality, Maan reported.

          The family member Muhammad Amira from Sur Bahir village told the media that he demolished a two-floor building with two apartments measuring 200 square meters each. while his brother Nidal had to demolish a one-floor building measuring 150 square meters.

          Amira pointed out that his lawyer presented to the judge blueprints which proved that parts of the structures were on West Bank lands and thus not under Jerusalem municipal control, but the judge did not care and instead ordered the demolition of both structures. 

           Amira added that he and his brother have 12 family members. They have spent more than 500,000 shekels ($140,000) on the buildings which they had to demolish with their own hands.

          If the municipality itself had carried out the demolition, it would have charged the family a fee of 200,000 shekels ($55,000). (T/P03/E1)
