INDONESIA’ HALAL FOUNDATION SIGNS COOPERATION WITH MIRAJ NEWS AGENCY

Jakarta , 12 Rajab 1435/11 May 2014 (MINA) – Indonesian Halal Products Foundation (YPHI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU ) with Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) in socializing halalan thoyyiban (halal and good) products in Indonesia as well as abroad.

Cooperation agreement between YPHI – MINA was signed by Chairman of YPHI Muhammad Yanis Musdja and MINA Deputy Editor-in-Chief Syarif Hidayat, witnessed by the Presidium of Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) dr . Rizky Ardiansyah , Chairman of Indonesian Spice Council Sofiati Mukadi, General Manager of Radio Silaturahim (Rasil) Firman Taher MINA’s headquarters, Jakarta.

“This cooperation aims to fight for the legalization of Halal Products law (UU JPH ) in this country. So that people are protected from the dangers of consuming forbidden foods, ” said the Chairman of YPHI, Muhammad Yanis Musdja in the signing of MoU, Saturday.

Yanis expected the cooperation could accelerate efforts to realize the lawful halal products in various fields in accordance with Islamic law.

In addition, Yanis also stated there are many food and medicines circulating in Indonesia that have not certified halal yet. “Indonesian Muslims majority must have a serious sensitivity and awareness concerning this matter, ” he said .

“Media has a very important and strategic role to raise public awareness about the importance of halal products, especially for Indonesian people as Muslim majority, ” said Yanis.

The cooperation includes the dissemination of information, conducting seminars, pubic education on halal products, and training in the field of science and technology as well as joint ventures in the fields of science, business, and industrial products.

Meanwhile, MINA Deputy Editor-in-Chief Syarif Hidayat said MINA – YPHI cooperation is expected to promote halalan thoyyiban (halal and good) products both domestically and internationally. “In Islam, Allah commanded to eat halalan thoyyiban (halal and good) foods, not only just for Muslims, but also for all human beings,” he added .

Mi’raj Islamic News Agency ( MINA ), which is the International Islamic News Agency based in Indonesia, broadcasts news reports in three languages (Indonesian, Arabic, and English) and provides special section ” Halal Products ” on its website . ” These are proofs of our commitment in realizing halalan thoyyiban (halal and good) products in Indonesia and seriousness in implementing the MOU with YPHI,” said Syarif.

Syarif said, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency is the right partner for YPHI in promoting halalan thoyyiban (halal and good) products in Indonesia and abroad because one of MINA mission is to defend Islam and Muslim ummah interests worldwide.
