Gaza, MINA – Hamas Movement has firmly condemned what it dubbed “an intolerable prying” by the Israelis, in reference to underway attempts to foil Palestinian reconciliation.

“The conditions set by the Israeli occupation as regards the national reconciliation process reveal the fear inhibiting the Israelis. The Palestinian Authority should take a firm action in response to such divisive attempts,” a tweet by political bureau member of Hamas, Ezzet Resheq, read.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum also said the Israeli conditions are signs of intolerable snooping in Palestinians’ internal affairs.

Barhoum said boosting national consensus is the best response to Israel’s nosiness.

Palestinian presidency spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudaina, also said the Cairo-brokered reconciliation process is proceeding in the right direction and that no Israeli attempts to impede it shall succeed.

In a new Israeli move to derail efforts to heal rifts in the occupied Palestinian territories, Israel’s security cabinet decided during a meeting on Tuesday that Israel will not engage in political negotiations with a Palestinian unity government, if such a government is indeed established following the reconciliation agreement between Hamas and Fatah.

The cabinet set conditions that must be met in order for Israel to negotiate with the Palestinian government, including Hamas’s recognition of Israel and cessation of anti-occupation operations, disarmament of Hamas, the return of Israeli soldiers held captive in Gaza, and severance of Hamas ties with Iran.
