THE GOVERNMENT TO TEST PRODUCTIVE BUSINESS CREDIT

Kudus, Central Java, 14 Rabi’ul Akhir 1436/4 February 2015 (MINA) – The government would soon test the Productive business credit (KUP) for people who do not have access to bank loans to finance its business, said the Kudus Regent Musthofa after received the President Joko Widodo at the State Palace on Tuesday.

“This program will be tested in the Kudus. The principle is to provide loan funds for small non-bankable communities,” said Musthofa.

According to him the Productive Business Credit program (KUP) was expected to touch the small community and uplift social economy, Antaranews quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The KUP will be given to the public in the form of soft loans with minimal funds Rp5-20 million (US$396 – 1584).

“All the funds come from the local bank where there will be a guarantee institution with a relatively low premium. I ask interest at six per cent,” said Musthofa. About the control in the provision of credit, Musthofa said, his side has identified small credible business to get KUP.
