Gaza, MINA – The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen 100 days after the ceasefire, with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warning of extremely harsh living conditions and calling for urgent international intervention. This comes as France announced new shipments of food aid to the besieged territory.
In a statement, as cited by PIC on Monday, the ICRC stressed that Gaza’s population is struggling daily for survival, a situation aggravated by severe weather conditions. The organization emphasized the urgent need to end violence and ensure the rapid and sustainable flow of humanitarian aid.
Despite moves toward implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement and establishing a national committee to govern Gaza, the humanitarian catastrophe persists due to deteriorating living conditions, shortages of food, and a collapsed healthcare system.
In response, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a container ship carrying approximately 383 tons of food aid departed from the Port of Le Havre on Sunday bound for Gaza.

According to the ministry, the aid aims to support the health of more than 42,000 children aged six months to two years in Gaza who are suffering from malnutrition. The shipment includes nutritional supplements intended to be distributed as one daily dose over six months to help prevent acute malnutrition, ministry spokesperson Pascal Confavreux stated.
The ship is expected to arrive at Egypt’s Port Said in about ten days. The World Food Programme (WFP) will then oversee the transfer of aid into Gaza.
French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed on social media platform X that France is “mobilizing all its efforts to support the people of Gaza.” The foreign ministry added that since October 7, 2023, France has provided more than 1,300 tons of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.
France also urged Israel to lift all obstacles preventing the United Nations and humanitarian organizations from delivering aid impartially and independently to all areas of Gaza.[]
