EMPTY SLOGANS NOT THE WAY TO DEFEND AL QUDS

Marrakech-Marroco, 16 Rabi’ul Awwal 1435/18 January 2014 (MINA) – HM King Mohammed VI, chairman of Al Quds Committee, stressed that empty slogans and exploitation of the Palestinian cause are not the way to defend the holy city against judaization plans.

“We cannot defend the holy city against Judaization schemes nor support its steadfast inhabitants through empty slogans or the exploitation of this lofty cause for pointless outbidding purposes”, the Sovereign said Friday in a speech delivered at the opening of Al Quds committee’s 20th session, held in Marrakech this January 17-18.

“Confidence, credibility and effective action are needed to defend sacred Islamic values”, said HM the King who called the issue of Al Quds “a crucially important matter,” The Maghreb Daily quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

After underscoring that “the Palestinian cause – including that of Al-Quds al-Sharif – is the cause of the entire Muslim Ummah”, HM the King insisted that “the chairmanship of the Al-Quds Committee is not a favor, nor is it a privilege but, rather, a crucial sacred trust and a tremendous responsibility before God and history.”

The Sovereign further surveyed efforts and actions he has undertaken “in consultation with our brothers and partners” in order to defend “the Arab-Islamic character of the city of Al-Quds, the cradle of the revealed religions and the symbol of peace and intercultural coexistence.” (T/P02/P04/mirajnews.com)
