New York City, MINA – Donald Trump, President of the United States, is reportedly considering the possible use of military force against Iran if diplomatic efforts to reach a nuclear agreement fail, according to several officials familiar with internal discussions within the US administration.
President Trump has signaled to his advisers that the option of limited strikes on strategic targets in Iran could be used in the coming days to increase pressure on Tehran to halt its nuclear program.
Targets under consideration include the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), nuclear facilities, and Iran’s ballistic missile infrastructure, according to a report by The New York Times on Tuesday .
However, US officials are also weighing the possibility of a broader military scenario if the initial strikes fail to compel Iran to adjust its policies.

Trump is also said to be considering the possibility of a larger operation that could extend until the end of this year, including options aimed at toppling Iran’s supreme leadership.
Diplomacy continues alongside the military threats, with delegations from Washington and Tehran scheduled to meet again in Geneva, Switzerland, in what officials describe as a final effort to avoid an escalation of the conflict.
The negotiations are being mediated by Oman and follow previous rounds held in Muscat and Geneva over the past several weeks.
However, the chances of reaching an agreement are still seen as slim, while other sources say a number of military options are being discussed intensively at the The White House.

So far, the US government has declined to provide an official statement regarding the military options, emphasizing that the final decision rests with the president.
Analysts say the rising tensions not only reflect the complex dynamics of US–Iran relations concerning the nuclear program and regional security, but also highlight Washington’s strategic dilemma in balancing diplomatic pressure and military threats at the same time.
Relations between the United States and Iran have deteriorated in recent years, particularly since Washington withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 and imposed a series of sanctions and economic pressure measures known as the “maximum pressure” campaign.
Iran has opposed the pressure, asserting its right to develop a civilian nuclear program under the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, while the United States and its allies demand further restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities and its support for militant groups in the region.[]
