London, MINA – Britain’s Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has announced his refusal to attend a dinner in London slated for next Thursday with Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu to mark the 100th anniversary of the Balfour declaration, PIC reported.

Corbyn is known for being a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause and a staunch critic of Israel and the western policies that support the occupation of Palestine.

British premier Theresa May had invited Netanyahu to visit London on Wednesday to attend an official dinner to be held to celebrate the centennial of the Balfour declaration.

She also invited Corbyn in his capacity as the leader of the largest opposition party in the country.(R/R04/RS5)
