Jakarta, 03 Jumadil Awwal 1438/31 January 2017 (MINA) – Cyber security and counter terrorism are on the agenda when three Australian ministers head to Jakarta for talks with their Indonesian counterparts this week.

According to AAP, Attorney-General George Brandis, Justice Minister Michael Keenan and Dan Tehan, who has responsibility for cybersecurity, will meet with Indonesia’s top security minister Wiranto and other ministers on Thursday.

The Australia-Indonesia ministerial council on law and security will focus on the risk posed by returning foreign fighters following the the collapse of the Islamic State caliphate in the Middle East.

There are an estimated 110 Australian foreign fighters in Iraq and Syria and an estimated 500 Indonesians.

The ministers will also talk about strategies to combat terrorism financing. (T/RS05/RS01)
