Bomb Explodes at Lhokseumawe Prison

Lhokseumawe, 23 Muharram 1438/24 October 2016 (MINA) – A bomb exploded at a correctional facility in Lhokseumawe district, Aceh province, on Sunday, leaving two of its prisoners injured.

The two prisoners, one of them in critical condition, have been rushed to a hospital, Antara reported.

Chief of Lhokseumawe district police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Hendri Budiman said a prisoner had exploded the bomb as he wanted to escape.

However, the prisoner was injured in the jailbreak attempt and is now in critical condition.

“Based on the preliminary result of investigation, the prisoner has intentionally exploded the bomb as he wanted to escape. But the prisoner identified by his initials as F is in critical condition,” he said. (T/R07/R01)
