Jerusalem, MINA – Israeli occupation police forces arrested Sheikh Raed Salah on Wednesday evening while he was in Occupied Jerusalem, according to witnesses and local sources.
Witnesses reported that a special Israeli police unit detained Sheikh Salah while he was in the occupied city to attend a Ramadan iftar with a Jerusalemite family. He was subsequently taken to the Al-Maskobiyya interrogation center.
His lawyer, Khaled Zabarqa, confirmed the arrest, stating that it followed a speech delivered by Sheikh Salah, which he described as “powerful.” Israeli authorities claimed the arrest was due to “conduct likely to incite disorder.”
According to local sources, Sheikh Salah was detained from inside his private vehicle while en route to attend the iftar. The arrest comes amid escalating Israeli measures targeting Palestinian leaders and activists in Occupied Jerusalem.
