Gaza, MINA – Israeli occupation military and political circles are signaling preparations for a renewed large-scale assault on Gaza, as humanitarian agencies warn of a worsening crisis due to aid blockades and the destruction of vital infrastructure.

Israeli media reports indicate the army has begun practical steps toward resuming fighting, aimed at eliminating Hamas and preventing its military reorganization.

Officials reportedly believe Hamas is recovering its operational capacity, producing rockets and explosives, and replacing commanders killed during the war.

Military planners are said to be preparing a new displacement scheme for Gaza’s population in anticipation of a wide ground offensive later this year, focusing on areas in central Gaza previously avoided.

Despite an existing ceasefire that ended a two-year Israeli offensive killing roughly 72,000 Palestinians and injuring over 171,000, humanitarian agencies report Israel continues to restrict basic relief supplies.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that humanitarian shipments, including food, hygiene kits, medicines, and shelter materials have been blocked from entering Gaza since March 2025, with supplies stranded in warehouses in Egypt and Jordan.

The humanitarian crisis has intensified following the destruction of critical water infrastructure.

Satellite imagery confirmed the Israeli army demolished a major water reservoir in Rafah in early February, which served approximately 70,000 residents.

This is part of a broader pattern, with about 89% of Gaza’s water and sewage infrastructure damaged or destroyed during the war, leaving over 90% of families facing severe water insecurity.[]
