Indonesia Pockets Mixed Doubles Tennis Gold

Palembang, MINA – Indonesia’s Aldila Sutjiadi and Christopher Rungkat snatched the gold medal in the tennis mixed doubles at the 2018 Asian Games on Saturday.

The duo’s gold medal win surpassed Indonesia’s initial target of achieving one bronze medal in the tennis competition,  Asiangames2018.id reported.

Indonesia secured gold after outclassing Thailand’s mixed doubles team of Luksika Kumkhum and Sonchat Ratiwatana in a three-set match at the Jakabaring Sport City’s tennis court in Palembang, South Sumatra.

Indonesia led the first set 6-4. The Thai pair came back in the second set with 5-7. Aldila and Christopher sealed the victory in the third set tiebreak with 10-7. (L/R04/RS5)
