18 Indonesian Students Joins at Juventus Academy

Turin, MINA – There are 18 Indonesian junior high school students take part in a soccer training program at Juventus Academy in Turin, Italy, from November 28 to December 5.

Minister Counselor of Social and Cultural Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, Charles Ferdinand Hutapea said that the training program is titled ” The Juventus Academy Training Experience “is held by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture for the winners of this year’s Indonesian Student Gala competition, as quoted from Republika online.

The students who practice at the Juventus Academy come from Sidoarjo, Surabaya, Krembung, Buduran, and South Tangerang region. In addition, there are four trainers accompanied by the Indonesian Under-19 national team coach, Indra Sjafri.

The General of Primary and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture Hamid Muhammad said that the training is aimed at appreciating the hard work of students who excel in the field of football.

“This is an opportunity for Indonesian students to feel practicing soccer at the world’s leading clubs to gain new knowledge and hone their skills. In addition, they can also broaden their horizons by looking at other parts of the world,” said Hamid who accompanied the participants to Turin.

The training program is led by head coach Nicolò Sarti and three coaches from the Juventus Academy, namely Vincenzo De Caro, Michele Vegliato, and Davide La Pira.

Nicolò said, this training would not only hone skills and techniques of playing football, but also applying the values, attitudes, and behaviors that are firmly held by Juventus, a football club that was founded in 1897.

In the training program participants will take part in various training sessions, friendly matches, as well as excursions and excursion studies to Turin City and the sophisticated Allianz Juventus Stadium in Italy.

Students practice in Cantalupa, around 50 km from the city of Turin. The small town at the foot of Mount Freidour has very complete sports facilities. The students also had the opportunity to witness the action of Cristiano Ronaldo and friends in the Champions League between Juventus against Valencia in the middle of this week. (T/Sj/P2)
