ZIONIST WARPLANES ATTACK FIVE SITES IN GAZA
Gaza City, 6 Jumadil Akhir 1435/6 April 2014 (MINA) – Israeli occupation Air Force jets have attacked several sites in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, sources on both sides said, hours after a rocket from the Palestinian enclave hit the Jewish state.
Palestinian medical and security sources on Sunday said five sites in northern and southern Gaza were hit, including training camps for the Islamic Jihad and Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, Aljazeera quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Sunday.
Al Jazeera’s reporters in Gaza said no injuries were reported by the Palestinians. The Israeli occupation army said it retaliated to “ongoing rocket attacks from Gaza”, targeting four sites in northern Gaza and a fifth in the south of the coastal territory.
On Saturday night, a rocket fired from Gaza hit an open area near Ashkelon in southern Israel without causing damage or injuries, the army and police said.
According to the Israeli army, 82 rockets have been fired from Gaza since the beginning of March.
Four rockets hit Israel on Thursday, shortly after it called off the planned release of 26 Palestinian prisoners.
Israel carries out air strikes on Gaza
The IAF attacked targets in the Gaza Strip early Sunday morning in response to rocket fire on Israel from the coastal territory the day before, according to The Jerusalem Post reports.
Four targets in the northern part of the Gaza Strip and one target in the southern part of the coastal territory were successfully hit by the occupation air force, The Office of the IDF Spokesperson confirmed.
“Hamas rocket attack is an intolerable reality Israelis should not have to accept,” an IDF Spokesperson Peter Lerner tweeted on Sunday morning.
A rocket fired from Gaza exploded in open territory in the Asheklon Coast Regional Council on Saturday evening.
No injuries or damage were reported from the rocket.
Earlier in the week, on Thursday night, Palestinian freedom fighters in the coastal enclave fired four rockets toward southern Zionist entity, activating the Code Red alert in Sderot and surrounding communities.
The projectiles failed to reach their targets, landing in open territory near the border with Gaza.
In response to the rocket fire, the Israel Air Force on Thursday stuck five terror targets in the Gaza Strip. (T/E01/IR).
