US Ambassador Appreciates Religious Harmony in Indonesia

Jakarta, 24 Ramadan 1437/29 June 2016 (MINA) – The ambassador of United States of America to Indonesia Robert O. Blake Jr appreciates the religious harmony in Indonesia which shows peace in the midst of diversity among tribes and parties.

“ I really appreciate the religious harmony in Indonesia. This country is very unique if compared with Islamic countries in Middle East and Africa,” said the Ambassador in the Break fasting ceremony held by the US Embassy in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Blake Jr also said that he has worked in countries  like Egypt, Algeria, Turkey and several countries in Middle East regions. But he found Indonesia to be different.

The ambassador aslo axpressed condolences to the suicide bombing action in Istambul, Turkey last Tuesday. “ It’s kind of big crime,” he said.

Gunshots, screams and explosions pierced the air Tuesday as three terrorists armed with bombs and guns killed at least 36 people at Istanbul Ataturk Airport in Turkey.

Witnesses described deadly carnage and crowds in a panic as the attackers struck one of the world’s busiest airports.

At least 36 people were killed, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said. An additional 147 people were wounded, Turkey’s Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag also said.
