TURKEY WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT PALESTINIAN FUTURE: ERDOGAN

     Ankara, 30 Muharram 1435/4 December 2013 (MINA) – Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday that Turkey will continue to support Palestinian people in the future too, sources from prime ministry offices said.

     On the first anniversary of Palestine’s receiving a “non-member observer state status” at the UN, Abbas phoned Erdogan to thank for Turkey’s support for the status, Anadolu Agency quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting. 

     Erdogan told Abbas that Turkey will continue to support Palestinian people in the future too, sources from prime ministry offices said.

     Abbas also reportedly took up negotiations between the sides in Palestine and the peace talks between his country and Israel during the conversation.

     Palestinian President earlier in October never called Turkish PM on phone for the Turkish pilots released by the armed groups kidnapping them in Lebanon.

     Abbas expressed his pleasure to hear that Turkish pilots kidnapped in Lebanon have been released, reported Turkish Prime Ministry sources.

     It was also reported that Abbas informed PM Erdogan about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process as well.

     Not only with the Palestinian President, a few days ago Erdogan also called his Palestinian counterpart Ismail Haniyeh to express his condolences over the death of Haniyeh’s one-year-old granddaughter.

     Emal Haniyeh, daughter of Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh’s oldest son Abdusselam, died Wednesday afternoon after being treated at a hospital in Gaza. (T/P09/E1).
