Trade Balance Records High Surplus in September

Jakarta, 16 Muharram 1438/17 October 2016 (MINA) – Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said on September 2016, the trade balance recorded surplus of $ 1.22 billion, and it become the highest in the last 13 months.

BPS Chief, Suhariyanto said on Monday, the suplus were contributed by the non-oil sector trade surplus of $ 1.9 billion. While the oil and gas sector recorded a deficit of 681.1 million.

Suhariyanto explained the value of total exports during September reached $ 12.51 billion, while the total import reached $ 11.30 billion.

Cumulatively, the trade balance in January-September 2016 is still surplus of $ 5.67 billion, with a total export of $ 104.36 billion and import of $ 98.69 billion.

Surplus occurred in the non-oil trade balance with trading partners such as United States ($ 6.28 billion), India ($ 4.94 billion) and Netherlands ($ 1.69 billion).

While the deficit occurred in the trade balance with China ($ 12.28 billion), Thailand ($ 3.26 billion) and Australia ($ 1.13 billion). (T/ R03/R04)
