THOUSANDS OF NETHERLANDERS CONDEMN ISRAELI GENOCIDE IN GAZA

Rotterdam, 1 Syawwal 1435/28 July 2014 (MINA) – Thousands of people have taken to the streets in the port city of Rotterdam in the Netherlands to condemn Israeli regime’s ongoing “genocide” in the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to local media reports, as many as 10,000 people attended the demonstration on Sunday to censure Israel’s offensive in Gaza.

Protesters held posters reading “No Dutch support for Palestinian genocide” and “Free Palestine”, Press TV quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Monday.

The protest rally was organized by a coalition of pro-Palestinian bodies in the Netherlands. The participants also waved the Palestinian flags.

Another placard read: “For years, the Palestinians have suffered under the illegal blockade and occupation by Israel.”

“Since July 8, Gaza has additionally been suffering under a daily rain of bombs. The bloodshed must end,” a protester said.

Israeli warplanes and tanks have been pounding numerous sites inside the besieged Gaza Strip and killing innocent residents of the impoverished Palestinian enclave since July 8. The bloodletting entered a new phase when the Israeli army began its ground attack into the densely-populated strip on July 17.

The Palestinian death toll from the Israeli aerial and ground assaults has risen to more than 1,050 with over 6,000 Gazans having been injured.

Many demonstrations have so far been held across the world in support of the Palestinians living in the coastal enclave.
