THE NEW YEAR OF MUHARAM ON TUESDAY, NOV, 5

        Jakarta , 30 Dhulhijah 1434 / 4 November 2013 ( MINA ) – The Isbath council of Jama’ah Muslimin ( Hizbullah ) decided, one Muharam 1435 Hijriya on Tuesday, November  5, 2013 after receiving information of rukyat (seeing the new moon) from various regions in the world.

         Ust Haerobi , a member of the council explained that based on the reports from several regions in Indonesia and outside, they could not see at the new  moon today ( Sunday ). So Dhul Hijja should be fulfilled 30 days and new year of Muharam on Tuesday.

         Meanwhile , the rukyat team in the Gaza Strip, led by Ust . Shamsuddin reported that there was  a solar eclipse which occured at 3:35 p.m ( Gaza time ) which means the ijtima ‘ ( meeting the sun and moon are in a straight line) happened.

        ” Based on the theory, the new moon will surely appeared 15 minutes after the eclipse and it would happened after sunset.  So, the new moon could not be seen, ” said Shamsuddin .

         Rukyatul Hilal team in Gaza consists of Shamsuddin , Mulyono , Abdurrahman Parmo , Karidi , Sakti Wibowo , Fikri , Reza , Husain , and Rochman .

         The team are the volunteers from Al – Fatah , Bogor, who are now doing the construction of Indonesia Hospital in Gaza Strip, Palestine .

        The chairman of the council, Ust . Nikun Priyono said it the decision based on global rukyat. If one region of the world have seen the new moon, then it applies to all Muslim regions all over the world .

        The Isbath council of Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) has been consistent in providing decisions of new moon in every hijriah months, especially on the the beginning and the clossing of Ramadan and Shawwal. They hope, Muslims will get accurate information to begin and end their worship, especially for fasting and hajj pilgrimage . (L/P04/E1)
