Saudi Arabia Calls for Providing Protection and Services for 5.4 Million Palestinians Displaced by Occupation and for International Support for UNRWA

 

New York, MINA — Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Bin Yahya Al-Maalami, stressed that Saudi Arabia affirms the right of return for Palestinian refugees, SPA reported.

In the Kingdom’s speech to the Fourth Committee on the item of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, he said that Israel continues to insist on not accepting the Arab Peace Initiative.

He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the Palestinian cause and considers it its first cause.

He added that the between 2000 and 2018, the Kingdom provided UNRWA with nearly $ 1 billion. (T//RS5/RS1)
