Bandar Seri Begawan, 21 Rajab 1437/30 April 2016 (MINA) – Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) is hosting two delegations from Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Radio Republik Indonesia (RPI) as part of their cultural cooperation, Program Budaya Tiga Serumpun.

The two delegations visited RTB Friday to discuss better facilitation and effectiveness of programmes produced by the two state broadcasters and radio network through the multilateral agreement, bt.com was quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Among the topics discussed were methods to ensure present programmes would be improved in terms of concept and content while continuing to produce more radio exchange programmes with one another such as the Mukun SeBorneo, Titian Senada, Kenangan Mengusik Jiwa, and Hubungan Muhibbah.

The memorandum of understanding for the cultural cooperation programme was signed in 2006 when the three parties conducting three meetings annually at their respective countries.

Leading the meeting was RTB’s acting head of radio, Pg Ahmad Pg Hj Mahmud, who also welcomed the two delegations to the broadcaster’s office in the capital.

As part of the ongoing multilateral agreement, two radio dramas were recorded Friday at RTB studios, titled Seri and Sahabat, involving deejays from all three stations.

Today, the delegations are expected to start filming two interactive presentations of quatrains, with themes focusing on the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration and the community. It will take place at Taman Mini Perayaan Kampong Parit Community Hall in Mukim Pengkalan Batu.

A gathering is also expected to take place to showcase one another’s culture and similarities through poems.

Yusmawati Yunos from RTM said she has joined the multilateral programme four times since its signing, noting that the programme would benefit all participating countries by learning from one another.

“This also gives us a chance to meet and get to know others in the field that we are currently working in but this will not end here as we would continue this connection we have made with one another,” said the radio deejay.

Meanwhile, Titik Renggani from RRI, who is a first-time participant of the cultural cooperation programme, said she looked forward to the exchanges among the three stations given the cultural similarities of the countries.
