Qatar Wins First AFC Asian Cup

Abu Dhabi, MINA – Qatar won the 2019 Asian Cup Champion after beating Japan 3-1 in the final round at Muhammed bin Zayed stadium, Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates (UAE), Friday night.

“Black Horse” Qatar managed to win the tournament defeating Japan’s favorite champions, accompanied by a remarkable record. Only conceded one goal during in final round, striker, Almoez Ali, became the top scorer with nine goals and 18 goals during this championship.

“I have no words,” Qatar coach Felix Sanchez Bas said after the match. “We have a great team and work a lot,” The New Arab reported, quoted by MINA.

Sanches said Qatar defeated Japan, which had won the continental championship four times. “A tense match that saw some incredible goals,” he said.

Qatar has built their football in collaboration with Real Madrid and Spanish Football Federation. Qatar will host the World Cup in 2022 later.

Only 12 minutes of the match took place, the first Qatar goal was created through a superb Ali Almoez overhead kick. Japan goalkeeper Yuto Nagatomo couldn’t resist the kick.

Qatar continues to dominate. After 15 minutes, a curling shot from Abdulaziz Hatem created the second goal, in the 27th minute, making Japan, the champion’s favorite, getting worse.

In the second half,  of the Blue Samurai played with new determination. They successfully ended Qatar’s clean sheet, so in the 69th minute Takumi Minamino scored goal.

However, Qatar gets a penalty kick in the 83rd minute ending Japan’s dream for the fifth title.

Qatar  won the 2019 Asian Championship and witnessed the fall of countries that have been known as strong countries in world football such as South Korea, the Asian Games Champion, Australia’s Asian Cup Defending Champion, as well as Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino handed over the trophy of The 2019 Asian Cup Champion to Qatar.

The Goalkeeper Saad El Sheeb earned US $ 10,000 for the award as the best goalkeeper in the 2019 Asian Cup tournament, while Ali Almoez received the award as the top scorer of nine goals with a prize of 10,000 US dollars for nine record-breaking goals in the tournament and received a check of 30,000 US dollars for the most valuable players.
