The solid and compact PSBS Biak defense prevented all of the Kemayoran Tigers’ passes and shots from being blocked. Several long-range shots were even attempted, but they were unable to find the back of the net for a second time.
Eight minutes of added time proved insufficient for Persija to extend their lead. They were unable to break down the Pacific Hurricanes’ defense.
Finally, referee Rio Permana Putra blew the final whistle, giving Persija Jakarta a narrow 0-1 victory.
The three points won didn’t change Persija’s position in the standings, but their points tally moved them closer to second-place Borneo FC. Meanwhile, PSBS Biak slumped further to the bottom of the standings. []
