AL-SISI NEGOTIATES A SECURE EXIT FOR HIMSELF WITH THE AMERICANS

Cairo, 17 Dhulhijja 1434/22 October 2013 (MINA) – The prominent Egyptian historian and political analyst, Dr Muhammad Jawadi, has claimed that Egypt’s defence minister, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, has asked the Americans to provide him with a secure exit.

Jawadi told al Jazeera Mubasher Egypt, “whatever pressure the Americans exert, the final word will be with the Egyptian people” expressing his confidence that the free Egyptians would not negotiate the blood of the martyrs.

He added, “al Sisi is looking for a secure exit for himself, the same way the Yemeni president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, did” stressing that it would not happen as long as Egypt’s young people “rise up, every day, boldly and courageously against the coup”.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has accused Western governments of ousting third world countries regimes with paths contrary to the West’s interests, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

In a letter from the Brotherhood, they said that “the West neglected Egypt’s democratic process which aimed to achieve self-sufficiency because it contradicted Western interests. They had changed the elected government with financial support, among other means to abort the revolution.”

The Brotherhood accused “the West’s-affiliates of Egyptian politicians, who had lost elections, of thwarting the elected President Mohamed Morsi and his new regime utilising money and thugs assisted by the Ministry of Interior and the judiciary. (T/P01/E1).
