POLICE RAIDS ANOTHER PRO-MORSI VILLAGE, KERDASA
Kerdasa, 13 Dhul Qa’ida 1434/19 September 2013 (MINA) – The Egyptian military since Thursday early (19/9) reportedly began besieging Kerdasa, Giza province, after previously raided and arrested residents of Dalga (south of Cairo) follow their refusal of military coup, witnesses said.
Anonim source said the television correspondents was ordered photographing the scene to help the military operation, according to SINAI reports as quoted by MINA (Mi’raj News Agency).
According to the Cairo-based media, Kerdasa was known as the biggest farm city against military coup that previously ousted freely elected president, Mohammed Morsi. Citizens took to the streets every day since the coup and join a peaceful protest.
After the military coup of July 3, the resident of Kerdasa held demonstration in front of the Kerdasa police station to protest their demand. Yet the action was welcomed by a tear gas and live ammunition that killed at least seven people and wounded several others.
Not only that, there were also reports said that at least 11 police were killed by unknown gunmen, showed impossibility done by the peacefull protester after the coup.
According to SINAI, there are thugs who tried to provocate either protester or the police officers. According to anonym police officer reports, the perpetrators of the shooting of a police officer is a person who ordered the police to shoot demonstrators. According to reports, they were killed for refusing to fire on protesters.
These days Egyptian media reported kerdasa is a new concentration for Muslim Brotherhood center. There was also a mass of Jama’a Islamiyah members who formed armed defense. But the issue was denied by Haitam Tabi’i, AFP correspondent, and said that was not true.
On 16 September 2013, The Egyptian military-backed army attacked Dalga village, Minya province in Egypt. The attacks was carried out following the village protest against military coup that ousted Egypt’s freely elected president, Mohamed Morsi.
According to MINA correspondent in Cairo, the number of casualties has not been released although some Egyptian media reported with their variety numbers. “The number of casualties hasn’t been announced yet, although reports said children became the victms of live ammunition,”
The soldiers also broke into house of Al Azhar professors Osama Kahil and his brother Hasan Kahil, following their ‘fear’ arrests against pro Morsi activists.
Dany said soldiers also arrested women and elderly residents. Heavy vehicles deployed in the area as well as helicopters flying in its air, showed the scene attacks on protesters at Rab’a Adaweeya in mid-August re-occur.
“Before the assault, the military cut off the electricity power first,” said Dany citing local reports.
The majority of Dalga resident are the biggest supporter of Mohamed Morsi, therefore they always join the protests since the early July coup.
Earlier, on Wednesday (14/9) 65 people in the province died during a military attacks after the peace protested, Egypt Independent reported.
Meanwhile, according to Ahram media, security forces detained 45 people today in what they called as operations against Islamists in the pyramid’s country. (T/P03/P04)
