Jerusalem, 19 Jumadal Awwal 1437/27 February 2016 (MINA) – The Palestinian Prisoners Club announced today a deal has been reached over the case Palestinain journalist, Mohammed al Qiq, who went into three-month hunger strike against the administrative detention slapped on him by the Israeli authorities.

The club said in a statement that the deal would led to his release.

For its part, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees & Ex-Detainees Affairs (CDEDA), said through its lawyer that the journalist al-Qiq, suspended the hunger strike today,

in the presence of his family members, Arab leaders in the occupied Palestinian territories and members of the Knesset, and the Palestinian lawyers.

The commission revealed that al-Qiq suspended the hunger strike after agreeing for release on 21st May, and to continue his treatment in Israeli hospitals, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting WAM.

His family will be allowed to visit him.

Chairman of the Authority, Issa Qaraqi said that the will of life shown by al-Qiq triumphed over the will of the Israeli death. (R07/R01)
