OIC ADOPTS ACTION PLAN TO PROTECT AL-QUDS

Conakry, 9 Safar 1435/12 December 2013 (MINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers has adopted a 13-point legal and political action plan to compel Israel to stop its aggressions and illegal measures in occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds).

Under the resolution, an OIC ministerial committee will be established to act urgently to convey the OIC message that any prejudice to al-Aqsa mosque is a red line that will neither be allowed nor tolerated by the Islamic Nation, the statement said, as Palestinian Information Center reported as quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

“The action plan also further mandates the Islamic Group in New York to seek the opportunity to hold a special session for the UN Security Council to discuss Israel’s violations,” the statement added.

At the legal level, the action plan did not rule out the possibility of resorting to the International Criminal Court and other international legal platforms to hold Israel responsible for its crimes and violations.

The OIC Council of Foreign Ministers has held a special session on Jerusalem in Conakry, Guinea, to discuss the Israeli violations and Judaization schemes.

For his part, Dr. Ismail Radwan, Minister of Awkaf and Religious Affairs in Gaza, warned of an artificial earthquake that will cause the collapse and demolition of al-Aqsa Mosque in order to establish the alleged Temple on its ruins after new excavations under the mosque were discovered.

Targeting al-Aqsa mosque is a direct threat to the Muslims’ creed and feelings, he said during a solidarity student vigil organized in Applied Sciences University in Gaza.

He pointed out that Israelis aim at imposing a status quo in the region as a prelude to the demolition of al-Aqsa mosque and the establishment of the alleged Temple.

Radwan called on the Arab League and the OIC to act urgently to save Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque and to support the steadfastness of Jerusalemites..(T/P03/P04)
